Activities

  • All activities are subject to change and are weather permitting.
  • Our charity for 2018 will be The Springfield Shriners Children’s Hospital.
  • Check for events throughout the summer that benefit this great organization.
  • Be sure to check for Snack Bar hours and specials!

Our planned activities take place on weekends beginning mid-May and continue through Labor Day. During July and August Wednesday is Family Movie Night and Thursday is Adult Bingo Night. Adult bingo also continues through the fall on Saturday afternoons. Columbus Day Weekend we bring back a full schedule of activities.
In addition to our fun theme weekends our regular weekend activity program usually include a mix of the following:

  • For adults: darts, pokeno, bingo and horseshoes.
  • For kids: candy bar bingo, wiffleball, kickball and kid’s fun hour.
  • For all ages: crafts, wagon rides, ball games, and more!

April 13th Campground Opens
(Weather Permitting)
May 4-6 Glow Party
Join us as we kick of the 2018 season early with a Black Light DJ Dance party Saturday night! Bring out all things that glow under black light like florescent clothing, body paints and powders, and glow jewelry.
May 11-13 Mother’s Day Weekend
Friday night join us for waltz lessons for all ages. Saturday create a mask at crafts. Saturday night we will hold a Mother’s Day Masquerade Ball. Time for elegant costumes and masks for this fantastical night.
May 18-20 Lip Sync Battle
Here is your chance to rock out as your favorite performer without the pressure! Saturday night join us for A Lip Sync Battle! Get the whole family involved! Prizes awarded in two categories, Solo Act and Duo or Group.
May 25-28 Memorial Day Weekend
The swimming pool opens this weekend. Kick start summer with our annual Field Day Events for all ages. Saturday night DJ Christopher Robin. Sunday night welcome Moose and The High Tops. With this band one thing is for sure: you’ll hear some of your favorite tunes as well as some of the greatest tunes in rock history!
June 1-3 Special Event: Trailer Trash
Saturday night come down and see the most unlikely band ever to hit the urban streets of Western MA, Trailer Trash playing all YOUR modern county favorites! This ain’t what your Grandpa labeled “country.” This is TRAILER TRASH!
June 8-10 Special Event: LA’s BackStage Pass
Saturday night we are amped to present LA’s BackStage Pass. BSP is bringing the biggest 80's rock-n-roll party on the east coast to Sunsetview tonight! They will bring you back to the days of no worries and arena rock concerts.
June 15-17 Fathers Day, Special Event: Aquanett
Father’s Day weekend will feature Aquanett Saturday night. Aquanett has been labeled “New England’s most authentic tribute to the 80’s.” Their look, authentic sound to the original artists and dedication to their fans have been keeping people coming out again and again for over a decade.
June 22-24 Pirate Weekend!
It’s all about the 12 and under picaroons Saturday with our Scallywag Obstacle Course and MYO Pirate Ship Contest. Saturday night all ye buccaneers join us for a swashbuckling good time with our own landlubber DJ Christopher Robin out on the beach! Wear your best, we will be judging ye for a Costume Contest.
June 29 - July 1 70’s to Today
What is your favorite decade; 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or today? Raid your closets and Saturday night dress in your favorite look. Prizes awarded! Nitefall provides the soundtrack featuring Alternative, Metal and Classic Rock from the 70s to today.
July 4-8 Fourth of July Weekend
Highlights for the long weekend: Thursday its Karaoke fun with Jackie Carleton. Friday night DJ Christopher Robin will be here playing all of your requests. Our annual Fourth of July Mardi Gras Themed Parade will be held on Saturday the 7th. Saturday night welcome back Ray Guillemette Jr. who will be performing with his amazing country band King Kountry!
July 13-15 Sunsetview’s 48th Birthday
Celebrate your campground’s birthday with camper carnival games, face painting, a pie eating contest and more! Birthday Party Saturday night featuring General Gist And The Mexican Cadillac putting their own spin on classic 70’s rock, 90’s alternative, as well current material, get the gist? Top off the weekend with The Shriners Clowns and cake!
July 20-22 Beach Dance
Join us for fun in the sun and playing in the pond. DJ Christopher Robin will be playing all your favorite beach tunes. Featured activities include a Limbo Contest for all ages and a Volleyball Tourney for ages 13 and up.
July 27-29 Christmas In July, Vendor Fair, and Shriners Christmas Parade Saturday
We are bringing back a Site Decorating Contest so bring your holiday decorations. Start your Christmas shopping early at our Vendor Fair Saturday! SORRY, NO BINGO THIS WEEKEND. Welcome the Shriners for a Christmas Parade Saturday morning. Santa and his elves will be here Saturday night for a Christmas Party!
August 3-5 Grease Weekend, Party Like It’s 1959
Miss the days of drive-ins, poodle skirts, bobby socks, hula hoops, and 45 rpm records? Drive in for Grease Weekend. Saturday night join us for a Rock 'n' Roll Dance Party with The Skid Marks! Vintage Rock n Roll delivered with the look and sound of an authentic 50's or 60's rock show complete with a costume contest and other nostalgic fun and trivia.
August 10-12 Island Luau
Join us on the beach for a slice of Hawaii in our own backyard. DJ Christopher Robin will be playing island tunes for your listening pleasure! Activities include Two Person Boat Race (13 and up), and a Limbo Contest for all ages.
August 17-19 Jimmy Buffet Weekend and Glow Dance Party
This weekend sit back, relax, and enjoy the island escapism lifestyle and leave your worries behind. Enjoy music on the beach, fun activities, and a costume contest for the best Parrothead and Parakeet. At night join us for a Black Light DJ Dance Party on the beach.
August 24-26 Special Event: Halloween Weekend*
Decorate yourselves and your campsites with all things Halloween! Join us for Trick or Treating and A Costume Parade and Contest. If you dare join us at a Monster Mash DJ Dance! Our featured event is our annual spine chilling Spook Ride ($). *Due to the popularity of this weekend we do have a visitor limit on Saturday 8/25. We allow each site only one visiting family on that day, please try not to exceed six people and one car. (Does not include visitors with season passes.)
August 31 - September 3 Labor Day Weekend
Featuring a Pokeno Marathon on Friday Night and a Bingo Marathon on Saturday. Saturday night welcome Relentless performing a wide range of hits from classic rock to current chart topping hits and new country. Sunday we will feature our Annual Chinese Raffle to benefit The Springfield Shriners Children’s Hospital. Great items for a great cause!
September 8 Misfit Mama’s Golf Tournament
Held at the Chicopee Country Club, this is a benefit for the Shriners Hospitals for Children. You must register in advance for this event. Click here for more information and to print a registration form.
September 7-9 Movie Night
Saturday night enjoy our version of a night at the drive in. Get your last swim in. Pool closes after this weekend.
September 14-16 Special Event: LA’s BackStage Pass
Saturday night welcome back LA’s Backstage Pass. This band is a reflection of what the 80’s were all about. The sound, the attitude, the performance - BSP will ROCK YOUR PAST TODAY!
September 21-23 Special Event: Trailer Trash
Put on a pair of boots and a cowboy hat if you like, or just come as you are, and enjoy a night of great music and fun with the return of Trailer Trash on Saturday night.
September 28-30 Teen Take Over Black Light DJ Dance Party
Saturday night teens take over for a Black Light DJ Dance Party featuring teen only requests. Bring out all things that glow under black light like florescent clothing, body paints and powders, and glow jewelry.
October 5-8 Columbus Day Weekend
Join us for seasonal favorites Scarecrow Making and our Pumpkin Carving Contest. Saturday night one last DJ Dance with Christopher Robin. Sunday night back by popular demand it’s Locals Only! Four young kids playing Rock N' Roll! Please be there Sunday night at 8:30 pm as we reveal our fundraising totals for the season and present our check to The Spring- field Shriners Children Hospital.

Friday June 22,2018

Gingerbread House Hours: 3 pm-9 pm 

  • 6:30 pm Registration for Adult Darts: At the pavilion. Fee $3.00. 
  • 7:00 pm SHARP! Adult Darts: At the pavilion for adults.

Saturday June 23,2018

Gingerbread House Hours: 8 am-2 pm and 5-10 pm 

  • 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Make Your Own "Pirate Ship" Sign Ups: At the office. For buccaneers 12 and under. Be sure to pick up a copy of the contest rules, avast ye!
  • 9:00 am to 1:00 PM PLAYGROUND CLOSED for the event. 
  • 9:30 am Children's Obstacle Course Registration: At the playground for LADS and LASSIES. Sign up for your age division: 6 and under/ 7-9 year old/ 10-12 year old. 
  • 10:00 am 15th Annual Children's Obstacle Course Begins: At the playground. Join us as we transform our playground into a challenging and exciting obstacle course pirate style. Picarroons will race against the clock and test their skills.  Our team will make sure no one hornswaggles!! Come down and cheer the competitors on! First, second and third place awarded in each age division. 
  • 12:15 pm Bingo Card Sales Begin: At the pavilion for adults. 
  • 12:30 pm Horseshoes Registration: At the pits by the pond for adult scurvy dogs. Fee is 1 beverage. 
  • 1:00 pm SHARP! Horseshoes: Begins at the pits by the pond. 
  • 1:00 pm SHARP! Bingo: At the pavilion for adult privateers.
  • 3:00 pm Gangway! It's a Wagon Ride: Pick up and drop off at the playground. Sail along with  Admiral Harold the Heroic and Mighty Matthew at the helm as they navigate the waters in their sea worthy vessel.   Thar she blows!
  • 5:00 pm Deadline: To sign up your boat for the Make Your Own "Pirate Ship" contest. 

ALL EVENTS THIS EVENING WILL BE AT THE POND.IF WEATHER IS BAD WE WILL MOVE ALL EVENTS TO THE PAVILION.

  • 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm Pirate Night: At "Sunsetview Lagoon" (Pond). Yo-ho-ho its a pirate night for us! All hands on deck, pack your duffle, it's time to walk, talk and dress like a pirate.  Be sure to walk the plank down to the beach and enjoy some sea worthy music  with our own DJ Christopher Robin at the helm of the ship!

Plant Nite: Friday, July 20
We are hosting a Plant Nite on July 20th from 7:30 -9:30 pm. Get your hands dirty and exercise your green thumb at Plant Nite! Create your own table top garden! We provide you with everything you need to create a gorgeous terrarium, ( photo on our Facebook events and in the office.) We'll guide you and your crew through two lively hours of creativity, laughter and fun!  Contact the camp office to sign up by calling 413-267-9269, email camp@sunsetview.com or stop by during office hours.  Cost is $48.00 per person, all ages welcome as long as they can work independently (or you plan to stay and help your kiddo with the project.) Deadline to sign-up or back out is Wednesday July 11th. You must be signed up in advance to participate.                                                                                                                     
Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair: Saturday, July 28
Do you sell Avon, LuluRoe, Pampered Chef, Tupperware or make things with your own hands? We will be hosting our 3rd Annual Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair on July 28th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (Christmas in July Weekend) so you can stock up on those Christmas gifts!  Tables for vendors are $10.00 and the proceeds benefit the Shriners Children Hospital. Misfit Mama's Charity Golf Tournament Saturday Sept 8,2018
Benefits the Shriners of Springfield.  $100.00 per golfer (includes lunch and dinner).

Bottle and Can Drive
Hey Folks! Don't forget to look for the can and bottle receptacles around the park. The money collected is donated to the Shriners and you are doing the environment a favor as well.  It's a win win for everyone!

Save Your Tabs!!
Hey Folks, just a reminder to save your tabs! The Lady Shriners collect all types of aluminum: soda and beer tabs, washed out pie pans, dessert containers, and clean tin foil from grilled foods and baked potatoes, etc. and turn then into cash! We donate every single dollar directly to The Shriners Hospital for Children. To date our little group has donated over $250,000.00!! You can drop tabs in the container at the pavilion or to Jody Babilonia at site 302. Every year the campers at Sunsetview donate about $2,500.00 worth of aluminum. Keep then coming!
